N.P. BRIJUNI

The tour begins with a sail out through the harbour of Pula and continues along the eastern part of the Brijuni archipelago.

Professionally guided sightseeing tour of the island of Veli Brijun lasts four hours and is organized in Croatian, Italian, German, Russian and English.

Indigenous plants, the best preserved macchia, meadows where deer and moufflon graze peacefully are a part of the landscape which can be seen by tourist train ride.

The sightseeing tour by train includes a visit to archaeological sites such as the remains of the Roman villa rustica from the I century B.C. in the bay of Verige, and the safari park which breeds the following animals: zebra, Somali sheep, zebu (the holy east Indian humped ox), dromedary, llama and elephant.
The tour also includes visits to the archaeological museum located in the Citadel building from the XVI century and the Church of St. Germain with permanent exhibition of copies of frescoes and Glagolitic writings from Istra.

The programme is enriched by a visit to the Mediterranean garden. The botanical garden of Brijuni is an attraction that extends to a surface area of 17.000 m2. The specially designed surfaces are now home to 169 different native and introduced plant species labelled with QR codes for more detailed information on the particular species.
Guests can take a break at the Školjka bar or at a restaurant close to the sea.

Dogs are allowed on the island but are not allowed in closed areas such as museums, on a toursit train and the Safari Park.
